ICON-Land standalone with QUINCY and JSBACH physics configuration#
This configuration runs ICON-Land with the QUINCY and JSBACH physics configuration (IQJ) driven by re-analysis based forcing.

Description#
Tests ICON-Land standalone (ie not coupled to an atmosphere but using observation based climate) running the QUINCY with JSBACH physics configuration (IQJ) in “CANOPY” mode. QUINCY is one of the two land surface models implemented in ICON-Land. The main difference of the configuration with QUINCY is the possibility to use a more comprehensive representation of biogeochemical processes and of biogeophysical processes. In CANOPY mode, however, only biogeophysical processes are enabled and the biogeochemical processes as well as vegetation dynamics are disabled (also called “climate” mode).
This configuration tests the functionality of the ICON-Land standalone driver, of the compilation of the QUINCY code and of the QUINCY code as required to run the model in CANOPY mode.
